RESPONSE OF ANTHER CULTRUE TO IN VITRO IRRADIATION OF SPIKE AND CULTURING WITH AL STRSS IN BARLEY

ABSTRACT: Using spikes of two barely lines treated with 60Co-r irradiation as materials, the callus induction and green plant regeneration from anther culture were investigated on the media containing AL. The results showed that Freq. Of callus induction and green plant regeneration were decreased dramatically by the irradiation treatment. The freq. of callus induction could be reduced by culturing with higher stress of AL and the freq. Of green plant regeneration was able to be decreased on the medium added with AL. The calli was obtained from anthers cultured with AL and green plants was regenerated from calli cultured on the medium with AL.
