Qi Tan, PhD, Chairman of the WSMBMP Council, Chief Scientist of China Agriculture Research System-Edible Fungi, Director of National Engineering Research Center of Edible Fungi, Director of South Edible Fungi Resource Utilization Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China.

Professor Tan's research interest focuses on breeding of superior cultivars of Lentinula edodes. She has 10  national certified and 22 provincial certified L. edodes varieties, holds over 30 invention patents, assumed 1 national level standard and 5 occupational standards. Prof Tan published over 200 papers and 3 monographs.
