Manjit Singh, PhD
Dr. Manjit Singh served as Scientist in Agricultural Research Service of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, India and superannuated from the post of Director ICAR-Directorate of Mushroom Research, solan, India in March 2015. Presently he is President Mushroom Society of India and vice president, WSMBMP. He was General Secretary WSMBMP from 2014-2018.
His contributions include diversity assessment in arid zone trees using, isoenzymes and AFLP based molecular markers, In vitro micropropagation, reproductive biology of arid shrubs, QTL mapping and MAS in pearl millet, diversity assessment and novel gum estimation techniques in guar, etc.
He developed and released 5 varieties of button and 3 of other mushrooms, cultivated novel species of mushroom like Lentinus sajor-caju , developed zero energy poly tunnel (ZEPT) method for compost of button mushroom. He patented two software for farm design and published over 70 research papers.
