Jingsong Zhang, PhD, General Secretary of the WSMBMP Council, Director of the National Edible Fungi Engineering Technology Research Center and the South Edible Fungi Resource Utilization Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, Director of Institute of Edible Fungi of Shanghai Academy of Agricultural sciences

 Professor Zhang mainly engages in the scientific and technological innovations of the whole industrial chain of medicinal mushroom processing, such as breeding of special new varieties for medicinal mushroom processing, discovery of functional components, evaluation of nutritional and health functions, quality control technologies and R&D of functional healthcare products. He has presided over more than 60 national, ministerial and municipal projects. He was comprehensively and systematically studied the biological activity and product processing technology of Ganoderma lucidum, Coprinus comatus, Cordyceps militaris, etc. He won several prizes of the government and academic societies. He has more than 350 publications,  5 books, and holds 25 invention patents and 11 new varieties of edible fungi.
