 上海市农业科学院畜牧兽医研究所前身是成立于1952年的华东军政委员会农林部上海兽医院；1953年改名为上海市立兽医院，隶属于上海市人民政府郊区工作办事处；1955年改由农业局领导；1957年与上海市种畜场合并成立上海市畜牧兽医试验站；1959年与上海市乳牛科学研究所合并，改名为上海市畜牧兽医研究所；1960年改名为上海市农业科学院畜牧兽医研究所至今，隶属上海市农业科学院。是上海市公益性研究机构。

Brief Introduction

The Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science of SAAS was initially established as the Shanghai Veterinary Clinic in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of East China Military and Administrative Committee in 1952. Then it was renamed as Shanghai Municipal Veterinary Clinic in 1953, affiliated to rural branch office of Shanghai Municipal People's Government. In 1955, the institute was governed by the Bureau of Agriculture. In 1957, the institute was merged with Shanghai Municipal Breeding Animal Farm into Shanghai Municipal Animal & Veterinary Experimental Station. In 1959, after merged with Shanghai Dairy Cow Research Institute, it was renamed as Shanghai Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science. In 1960, it was reorganized as the Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, a Shanghai non-profit research institute, affiliated to SAAS.

主要从事畜禽遗传育种与种质资源创新利用、畜禽疫病诊断与防制、生物制品研发、动物环境与福利、动物饲料营养等方面的研究工作。目前设7个研究室，家畜遗传育种研究室、家禽遗传育种研究室、动物营养研究室、动物环境与福利研究室、家畜疫病研究室、禽病研究室、动物基因工程研究室。

The institute mainly deals with the study on animal genetics & breeding and innovation & utilization of germplasm resources, diagnosis and prevention of animal epidemic disease, research & development of bio-products, animal environment & welfare, and animal feeds & nutrition. At present, this institute boasts the following seven research laboratories: laboratory of livestock genetics & breeding, laboratory of poultry genetics & breeding, laboratory of animal nutrition, laboratory of animal environment & welfare, laboratory of livestock epidemic disease, laboratory of poultry epidemic disease, and laboratory of animal genetic engineering.

两个科研平台：农业部国家家禽工程技术中心、上海市农业遗传育种重点实验室；两个成果转化实体：上海佳牧兽用生物制品有限公司、上海申丰畜牧兽医科技有限公司；三个服务平台：动物诊疗中心、《上海市畜牧兽医通讯》编辑部、《国外畜牧学-猪与禽》编辑部；三个科研基地：上海白猪种猪场、黄羽肉鸡种鸡场和白山羊种羊场。

It also boasts two scientific research platforms—National Poultry Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Shanghai municipal key laboratory of Agricultural Genetic and Breeding; two economic entities transferred from scientific achievements—Shanghai Jiamu Biological Products Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Shenfeng Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Technology Co., Ltd.; three service platforms—animal medical center, editorial department of Shanghai Animal & Veterinary Correspondence, and editorial department of Animal Science Abroad-Pigs and Poultry; and three scientific research bases—Shanghai white pig breeding farm, yellow-feathered broiler breeding farm, and white goat breeding farm.

研究所现有职工90余名，其中博士19人，硕士27人，副高及以上职称36人。享受农业部特殊岗位津贴专家1人，农业部国家产业体系蛋鸡岗位科学家、水禽岗位科学家各1人；农业部国家产业技术体系肉鸡试验站站长1人、农业部国家产业技术体系水禽试验站 站长1人，上海市级领军人才2人。

This institute has a staff of more than 90, of which 19 have doctoral degree and 24 have master’s degree, 36 have vice-senior and above titles, 1 expert enjoying special post allowance conferred by the Ministry of Agriculture, 1 scientist on the post of layers and 1 scientist on the post of waterfowls under the state industrial system of the Ministry of Agriculture, 1 director in charge of broiler experimental station and 1 director in charge of waterfowl experimental station under the state industrial system of the Ministry of Agriculture as well as 2 shanghai municipal leading talents.

建所以来获得120余项科技成果，其中50余项荣获国家、部、市级科技成果奖；获得国家新兽药证书3个、授权发明专利20余项，农业转基因安全证书2个，制定国家和地方标准5个。培育了上海白猪（农系）、黄羽肉鸡--新浦东鸡、瘦肉型鸭配套系等一系列新品种。

Since its establishment, it has obtained over 120 scientific and technical achievements, including 50-odd Scientific and Technological Achievement Awards at national, ministerial and provincial level. It has secured three new drug licenses and two transgenetic security certificates from the Ministry of Agriculture, obtained over 20 authorized patents for invention and set 5 national and local standards. The animal breeds having been developed in the institute includes Shanghai White Pig, yellow-feathered broiler (namely, New Pudong Chicken), supplementary breeds of lean-meat duck and etc..

 研究室设置

Seven research laboratories

 1家畜遗传育种研究室：以分子技术结合常规育种，体细胞克隆技术和胚胎冷冻保存技术为依托，主要研究方向∶

（1）重点开展猪、牛、羊遗传育种研究与技术推广；

（2）地方优良家畜种种质资源挖掘、保存和利用：

（3）利用体细胞克隆技术、胚胎移植及低温冻存技术，对地方优良品种进行保存、利用。

1. Laboratory of livestock genetics & breeding: Based on molecular techniques combining with Conventional breeding method, somatic cell cloning technology and cryopreservation technology for embryos, this laboratory focuses on (1) researches on pig, cow, goat genetics and breeding as well as promotion of new agricultural technology; (2) exploitation, preservation, and use of germplasm resources in the local high-quality livestock breeds; and (3) taking advantage of somatic cell cloning technology, embryo transplantation and cryopreservation technology to preserve and use local high-quality breeds.

 2       家禽遗传育种研究室：以蛋用、肉用鸡、水禽新品系培育为研究目标，重点方向：

（1）蛋鸡育种研究与技术推广：高产蛋鸡新品系的培育与推广示范；

（2）肉鸡新品种培育与保种：重点开展新浦东鸡、黄鸡等高品质肉用品系培育及推广；

（3）水禽遗传育种研究：重点是开展鹅、鸭肉用品系种质资源创新、配套生产技术和健康养殖模式的研发和示范推广；

2. Laboratory of poultry genetics & breeding: Aiming at researches on new breeds of layers, broilers, and waterfowl, this laboratory focuses on (1) researches on layer breeding and its technical promotion, and new breeds of hyline layers and its promotion and demonstration; (2) cultivation and conservation of new breeds of layers, especially cultivation and promotion of New Pudong Chicken, yellow chicken and other high-quality layer breeds; and (3) researches on waterfowl genetics & breeding, particularly innovation of germplasm resources in the new breeds of goose and duck, supporting production technology, researches on the healthy breeding mode, its promotion and demonstration.

 3家畜疫病研究：开展畜禽疫病诊断技术、病原学及疫苗学研究：

（1）猪病诊断与疫苗研制：重点是猪流行性腹泻、猪瘟病毒、猪细小病毒、猪伪狂犬病毒、蓝耳病病毒诊断技术与新型疫苗研制；

（2）牛羊疫病诊断与防治技术研究：重点开展山羊、牛病原学研究、临床诊断技术及相关疫苗制剂研发；（3）人畜共患病研究：主要开展猪流感病毒、乙脑病毒、猪戊肝等具有重要公共卫生学意义的病原学及阻断技术研究；

3. Laboratory of livestock epidemic disease: It deals with researches on diagnostic technology of animal epidemic disease, etiology and vaccines.

This laboratory focuses on (1) diagnosis of swine diseases and research & development of vaccines, mainly poring over Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea, Hogcholera Virus, Porcine Parvovirus, Porcine Pseudorabies Virus and Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome; (2) researches on diagnosis, prevention and control technology of cow and goat epidemic diseases, mainly poring over researches on their etiology, clinical diagnostic technology and research & development of relevant vaccines; (3) researches on zoonosis, mainly embarking on etiology and blocking technology in Swine Influenza virus,  Japanese Encephalitis virus, Swine Hepatitis E.

 4禽病研究室：开展禽病诊断技术、病原学及疫苗研究，主要研究方向：

（1）禽病诊断与疫苗研发：重点是家禽新城疫、传染性法氏囊病、传染性支气管炎等疫苗的研究；

（2）水禽疾病病原学诊断与免疫防疫技术研究；

4 Laboratory of poultry epidemic disease: It deals with researches on diagnostic technology of poultry epidemic disease, etiology and vaccines.

This laboratory focuses on (1) diagnosis of poultry diseases and research & development of vaccines, mainly poring over vaccines against Newcastle disease, Infectious Bursal disease, Infectious Bronchitis disease and etc.; (2) researches on pathogenic diagnosis and immunity & prevention technology of waterfowl disease.

 5动物环境与福利研究：从畜产品安全、生态环境、畜体内环境角度，研究畜禽健康养殖技术，并对外承担畜禽养殖环境规划、环境监测、福利评估和养殖生态环境修复等技术服务。

（1）动物内外环境调控技术研究：根据动物品种特性，利用调控技术提高动物生产性能和品质；

（2）畜禽场低碳减排技术研究、有害气体净化技术研究；维持养殖场生态、健康；

5. Laboratory of animal environment & welfare: From the perspective of safety of livestock products, ecological environment, internal environment of the livestock, this laboratory researches on healthy breeding technology for livestock, provides technical services, such as environmental planning of livestock breeding, environmental monitoring, welfare assessment and ecological environment restoration to the outside companies.

This laboratory focuses on (1) researches on control technology of animals’ internal and external environment; On the basis of characteristics of animal species, it takes full advantage of control technology to improve animal performance and quality; (2) researches on low-carbon emission technology for farms and hazardous gas purification technology and maintenance of ecological and healthy breeding farms.

 6动物饲料营养研究室：主要从事畜禽的营养物质代谢、营养需要、营养调控、饲料营养价值评定、饲料加工配制技术以研究，主要方向：

（1）畜禽营养精准调控技术研究，旨在降低畜禽碳、氮排放，提高饲料利用价值；

（2）牛羊粗饲料的制备技术及推广应用；

6. Laboratory of Animal Feeds and Nutrition: It deals with researches on nutrient metabolism, nutritional requirement, nutritional regulation, evaluation of feeds’ nutritional values, technology of feed processing and preparation.

This laboratory focuses on (1) researches on precise control technology of animal nutrition, aiming at reducing carbon and nitrogen emission and improving feed value; (2) preparation technology and promotion & application of coarse feed for cow and goat.

 7动物基因工程研究室：采用基因工程技术对畜禽病原进行体外操作，研究病原特性；对病原基因组进行改造，研制基因工程疫苗。

7. Laboratory of Animal Genetic Engineering: Adopting genetic engineering technology, this laboratory researches on the features of pathogen through external operation on the animal pathogen, transformation of pathogenic genes, and development of genetic engineering vaccines.

研究方向：利用基因工程技术，结合免疫学、生物信息学方法进行动物遗传育种研究，包括对动物病原学基础研究及畜禽抗病育种研究；利用转基因克隆技术、胚胎低温冷冻保存技术，对地方优良品种资源进行挖掘、保存和利用。

2. Shanghai municipal key laboratory of Agricultural Genetic and Breeding, Animal Genetics & Breeding Lab

By using genetic engineering technology in combination with immunology and bioinformatics method, it researches on animal genetics & breeding, including basic research on animal etiology and research on animal disease resistance breeding. Making full use of transgenic cloning technology, cryopreservation technology for embryos, it exploits, preserves, and uses germplasm resources in the local high-quality animal breeds.

   按照兽用生物制品生产规程建设的兽用疫苗生产车间，疫苗生产车间于2001年4月通过农业部验收，获“兽用生物制品生产许可证”。主要生产猪细小病毒油乳剂灭活疫苗、鸡球虫苗、仔猪腹泻三价疫苗等产品。

Abided by production regulations of veterinary biological products, vaccine workshop passed the examination and appraisal conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, and obtained the production license for veterinary biological products. It mainly produces vaccines, like oil-emulsion Porcine Parvovirus vaccine, chicken coccidial vaccine, piglet diarrhea trivalent vaccine.

2 Shanghai Shenfeng Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Technology Co., Ltd.;

   上海申丰畜牧兽医科技有限公司主要经营种畜种禽、饲料及饲料添加剂、兽药生产及销售。公司下有动物疫病诊疗室、白山羊养殖基地。

   Its business mainly includes livestock and poultry, feed and feed additives, production and sales of veterinary drugs. It consists of an animal medical center and a white goat breeding farm.

Founded in 1956 by the Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science of SAAS, the Shanghai Animal & Veterinary Correspondence is a scientific and economic medium, published both at home and abroad. For many years, it has been honored as Chinese Core Journal under the category of national animal husbandry and veterinary science. Founded in 1983 by the Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science of SAAS, the editorial department of Animal Science Abroad-Pigs and Poultry has been supervised by Agricultural Information Institute of CAAS. This magazine, a professional magazine focusing on technology popularization, has taken the lead in introducing the advanced pig and poultry breeding technologies, researches on feed and nutrition, and  prevention and control diseases both at home and abroad. It is composed of feed nutrition, breeding technology, breeding, health care, comprehensive utilization, public health, equipments, introduction of foreign pigs and poultry breeds, assimilation and absorption of foreign technology, special column, experts’ forum, experience exchanges and other columns. Its target readership is grassroot farmers, sales staff as well as scientists and technicians.
